Our topic this half term is World War II. We have been doing lots of learning this week around the war and the children have engaged so well in all of the activities. They have been making fantastic use of the air raid shelter and when they hear the siren go off they know they need to climb in or hide under a table!

In Cookery we looked at rationing in the war and made our very own butter using cream. The class also made rationing books which were then used to get their snack allowance. We have been dressing up as soldiers and Michelle put the children through their pace in training on the trim trail.

In Art the children have been making gas masks and boxes for them to go in to. A variety of materials were used to create these. The class have enjoyed trying these out and getting in to role.

We also had to evacuate to the countryside. The children packed up and went out to our stagecoach play bus where we had to climb aboard and make our way to the country, leaving the town behind!
